How one partner builds districts’ organizational capacity to face the public health and staffing challenges of an up-and-down pandemic.
School districts throughout the state are working hard to return to pre-pandemic instructional models while hedging against the inherent risks and policy shifts associated with this new phase of the pandemic. We’re proud to have worked with our client AM LLC (AM) to help them offer comprehensive public health and monitoring solutions to districts that transcend the pandemic and can help build robust learning communities.
At the height of the pandemic and beyond, AM has provided testing and contact tracing services to eight districts in the State of California by building on a decade of experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions. Additionally, AM is helping these districts pivot toward the future, leveraging the pandemic’s hard-won lessons to keep students and school communities healthy and learning.
Two examples of the K-12 work AM is doing in California schools:
- Rim of the World School District – provided COVID support through the peak era of 21-22, continuing with that support for the start of next school year in addition to supporting staffing and school health needs
- San Bernardino City Unified School District – AM’s flagship K12 program. AM collaborated with the SBCUSD and developed a comprehensive COVID Support program, placing Liaisons in each school in the district to ease the burden on school and district staff. This program is slated to continue through the 22-23 school year.
Recently, AM arranged for Dr. Robert Redfield, former Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and a member of AM’s Advisory Board, to speak with high school Health Pathways students in the SBCUSD. He discussed the impacts the pandemic has had on the medical field, the opportunities for young people in the health sciences in the future, and his personal experiences at the head of the CDC, while encouraging pursuit of STEM education and public service.
